The technologies shaping the next decade are rapidly evolving. As a small country, New Zealand cannot pursue every emerging opportunity. Equally, we cannot afford to overlook technologies with the potential to transform our economy, lift productivity, and create new industries.

We are looking beyond today’s headlines to identify the emerging technologies most likely to shape the future. By understanding how these technologies are evolving, and assessing where New Zealand has the strengths, opportunities, and competitive advantages to lead, we can focus effort and investment on the areas with the greatest potential for impact.​

At the request of the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology we are working with key science system partners to identify and maintain a Critical Technologies List (CTL) for New Zealand.
