Advanced materials
The Future Magnetic and Materials Technologies Platform hosted by Paihauopen_in_new — Robinson Research Institute at the Victoria University of Wellington, will position New Zealand at the forefront of advanced materials and superconducting technologies, supporting breakthrough innovation in electric aviation, space, fusion energy, magnet technologies, and clean minerals processing.
The platform will strengthen New Zealand's clean tech and deep tech sectors by connecting world-class research with commercial opportunities, attracting global investment, growing high-value exports, and supporting the creation of skilled jobs.
MBIE established the platform and provided the initial funding. With $71 million committed over seven years, NZIAT will provide ongoing funding and stewardship of the platform.
