NZIAT took part in Techweek 2026, joining innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from across New Zealand to discuss the future of advanced technology and innovation.
Hosted as part of the national Techweek programme, the NZIAT panel explored the Institute's role in connecting frontier research with frontier firms and helping New Zealand capture the economic opportunities emerging from advanced technologies.
Board members were joined by science and innovation leaders to discuss the importance of building stronger connections between research, industry, and investment. The conversation highlighted the opportunities presented by emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, advanced materials, and quantum technologies, and the role these fields can play in creating high-value jobs and export growth.
The session also provided an opportunity to share NZIAT's vision for a more connected innovation ecosystem, one that supports researchers, accelerates commercialisation, and helps New Zealand compete internationally.
